1990s

While the beginning of the '90s was heavily influenced by the previous style, music and film were the influencers in the latter half of the decade. With more acknowledgment of Latin American and black American cultures in these areas, '90s fashion began to follow suit with hoop earrings, athletic wear, and chain belts.
